Searching Things Out

It is the glory of God to conceal things, but the glory of kings is to search things out.

Quote of the Day

"This lesson of the image of God is perhaps the greatest gift Dr. Brand has given me. The great societies of the West have been gradually moving away from an underlying belief in the value of a human soul....I had been wrestling with 'issues' facing 'humanity.' I had not, however, learned to love individuals - people created in the image of God."

--Philip Yancy, biographer of Dr. Paul Brand who was a twentieth century Christian doctor who selflessly gave his life to serve lepers in India and America.

If you're interested in Dr. Brand, you should definitely read Dorothy Clarke Wilson's biography of him, Ten Fingers for God. We read an older version growing up, but there's a newer version for which Yancy has written, by one report, a very good preface.

Jeames, a suggestion: put your quote and posts together so people can just comment on one post. Most people just read the top post so the lower one doesn't get read.
