Quote of the Day
"The venerable dead are waiting in my library to entertain me and relieve me from the nonsense of surviving mortals." Samuel Davies (1723-1761)

In my busyness, I've not had much time to blog over the last couple of weeks, but here is an interesting question for thought. Would you be outraged as a Christian if people in an Islamic country flushed a Bible down a toilet in the same fashion as Newsweek mistakenly claimed Americans had done to the Koran at Guantanamo Bay?

Most certainly. If I were there, and ANYone flushed God's word down the toilet I would very upset. Now, whether I would do anything about it, I don't think so. I would prolly simply show feelings of sadness, and pray for their souls.
I personnally wouldn't because all they are doing is flushing down paper and ink. You have to remember what the Bible is, not what it is made of. The Bible is words from God that were sent to lie in our soul, not in a book. I'd be sad to see the Bible flushed down the toilet, but I'd also be sad if I saw Lord of the Rings being flushed down the toilet. The Bible is just a book that can be torn just like any other book, it is what is in it that we should be so respectful and reverent of in our hearts.
It would be the intent of the action that would make me sad/mad to see the Bible flushed down the toilet. But David is right, it is a book not a person being tortured. Besides God does say revenge is His, He will hold them accountable. Aunt Deb
P.S. Welcome to blogger world James
I wouldn't be outraged as much as I would be amused. To think that the holiness and glory of our religion is tied to biodegradable paper and ink is silly. To realize that the holiness and glory of another religion is tied to paper and ink is just sad.
