Synod Thursday am
Synod has not gone as thought it would for me, but it has still been good. This afternoon our Judicial Committee of five men completed seven or eight hours of deliberations beginning last night. I trust that what God has led us to recommend will assist the Synod in making a wise and just judgment. As a result of our committee being excused from the floor of Synod for our committee work, I have only a second-hand report of what has gone on for the last twenty-four hours, aside from a few items we recessed from our deliberations to hear. Last night Synod heard reports from fraternal delegates from other deliberations. This morning and afternoon there were reports from the Boards of Home and Foreign Missions, Committee on Revitalization, Reformation Translation Fellowship, the Women’s Association, the National Reform Association, and the Psalter Revision Committee, in addition to a few other minor matters. Tonight we are on the Finance Committee, other items and a time of prayer. There has been a lot of good fellowship over meals. Keep praying for us to do God’s work as he would have us do.
That was last night…I didn’t get it posted. Today Dr. Spear finished his three sermons on Christ in his offices of prophet, priest, and king – all needful because of our ignorance, guilt, and bondage. They were wonderful…I said to someone that it is really captivating preaching…I’m really looking forward to his coming to
